Take a lovely half mile stroll to downtown Winthrop over one of two pedestrian suspension bridges. You may see a resident bald eagle or steelhead trout along the way. Once in town, choose from fine dining, the local brewery with award winning beers, a delectable bakery, mexican fare and western home cooking. Don't miss shopping at Winthrop's galleries, boutiques, outdoor gear stores, antique shops, kitchen and garden shops, and even an independent bookstore. The Methow Valley is a leader in the shop local movement. You can check out Methow Made to find out where to purchase items from local farmers and craftsmen while in the valley.

"One of the best budget spots in town is the Mt Gardner Inn. A little mom-and-pop place run by a friendly young couple who keep the place in tip-top shape. The furniture is new and the rooms are spic-and-span. There are several room options, including pet-friendly rooms and more luxurious rooms with private decks." - Moon Handbooks (Travel guidebook)
There are many delicious breakfast options in downtown Winthrop a half mile from the hotel. Our favorites are the Rocking Horse Bakery, 3 Bears Cafe, Duckbrand Cantina, and Three Fingered Jacks. The Freestone Inn, Mazama Store (bakery) and Glover Street Market are worth the drive. *The Mt Gardner Inn proudly provides Starbucks Coffee in your room.
"Washington is the best state because of mountains like Gardner and innkeepers like Greg & Alison." - Jay Inslee
All the deluxe rooms except for the Ptarmigan room are located in the west building. (See Rooms page for details of each room.) We designed and built this building with our guests' comfort in mind. Each deluxe room has a private deck or patio. All guests have access to the lovely lawn and common area with BBQs, multiple seating options for relaxing, and views of the Cascades.
This charming building is a Winthrop Western theme classic. We have completely renovated the building in our years of ownership. It is at the front of our property and houses the lobby, the Standard rooms (see Rooms page for details of each room,) and our newest Deluxe room, the Ptarmigan. The scenic lawn and picnic area are nearby.
